Last night... so much fun!

Although I couldn't stay long, I very much enjoyed the Listopad x Renee Glazer event @ Napoleon last night!

Very much enjoyed a chat with Renee herself, Kathy from Listopad and Sandy from Woodley Park Zoo... over a can of Champagne (how classy right)!

Aaaand, walked away with a great vintage sweater from Listopad... black with gold stars all over it (like the ones you got for being good when you were a wee one). One coworker said today that it looked like a constellation, and I got several Beadazzler comments! So fantastically 80s.

All in all... success!

Vintage is Everywhere!

Vintage shopping is getting a TON of press lately, from national and local media outlets. Here's a rundown of a few items:

• The Today Show has a great little segment with Lucky Magazine's Andrea Linnett on searching for vintage finds at a yard sale, thrift store and on eBay. (Plus, here is Lucky's favorite vintage sites -- congrats NastyGal!)


• Massachusetts' South Coast Today sent its interns on a (very successful - see picture below!) vintage shopping mission.


• Jackson Mississippi's Clarion Ledger has a story on the recent success of its local vintage stores.
• Chicago's Daily Herald recommends scouring thrift shops for holiday decorations.
• The Seattle Times has similar suggestions.
• ABC News chimes in on the trend, too, with a story on campus fashion.

Back from Europe and the backwoods of Tennessee. Such a contradiction but a great work trip/vaca

The College of William and Mary's student newspaper, The Flat Hat, has a story today about searching vintage/consignment/thrift stores for costumes. I like where their head is at.

Funny enough, my little bro is at law school at William and Mary... hope he has a comfy couch for me when I visit :)

Just discovered Listopad -- a very cool little shop-within-a-shop (or "pop-up shop" as they call it) and accompanying blog! Housed by Mercedes Bien on 18th Street in Adams Morgan, Listopad aims to "Collaborate with the awesome DJs, bars, shops, musicians and artists in the area, we want to promote the best of our city and its potential." All this in addition to finding cool vintage clothes for us to wear!

Here is a Project Beltway interview with Cath and Kata, the founders of Listopad.

Hopefully I will make it to their next event (they have regular vintage events) at Napoleon Bistro on Dec. 10 and meet them in person!
